Pearlized BOPP film — also called cavitated or white opaque BOPP film — is a low-density, high-opacity polypropylene film that combines a premium pearl finish with the stiffness and moisture protection your packaging needs. It is made by dispersing a pearlescent filler into polypropylene resin and biaxially orienting the film, which forms micro-voids that create the characteristic pearl sheen, bright white opacity, and reduced density of 0.65–0.78 g/cm³.
SAILLAGE's pearlized BOPP film for packaging is engineered for food-contact applications and high-speed converting. It is widely used for snack packaging, ice cream and confectionery wrappers, cold drink sleeves, beverage and wrap-around labels, premium soap and gift boxes, and as an outer ply in laminated structures. Compared with clear BOPP, it delivers more square meters per kilogram, a clean white base for brand graphics, and reliable machinability with controlled COF and thermal shrinkage.
We supply standard, heat-sealable and custom-thickness grades. Contact SAILLAGE for technical data, samples and a quotation.

Lower than clear BOPP (about 0.90 g/cm³), giving more square meters per kilogram and better yield economics.
Ready for gravure, flexo and lamination; specify your ink system if you need 40–42 dyne/cm.
Standard packaging grades with ±3–5% tolerance; custom thickness and width available.
Where the value comes from — the film's cavitated structure, food-safe quality and documented consistency.
0.65–0.78 g/cm³ versus about 0.90 g/cm³ for clear BOPP means more square meters per kilogram and a lower unit cost.
The cavitated structure blocks product visibility and gives printed graphics a clean, stable white background.
Food-contact-approved materials, with documentation to FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 and EU Regulation 10/2011.
Controlled filler dispersion and L*a*b* whiteness checks keep the pearl sheen uniform from batch to batch.
COF of 0.20–0.40 and thermal shrinkage ≤4% MD / ≤2% TD keep high-speed lines running without jams or registration drift.
Print-facing corona treatment of ≥38 dyne/cm supports gravure, flexo and lamination adhesion.
Low-seal grades with seal initiation around 110–130°C for ice cream, confectionery and flow-wrap formats.
MVTR of 3–8 g/m²/24h at 30 µm protects snacks and frozen products; laminate with metallized BOPP/PET for higher barrier.
Every roll ships with a Certificate of Analysis and full lot traceability back to raw material.

For snack packaging—such as potato chips, crackers, or puffed foods—it delivers outstanding stiffness and strength, ensuring reliable protection and maintaining product freshness, while its unique pearlescent finish creates a premium, eye-catching appearance that elevates brand appeal on store shelves.
For cold drink packaging—such as plastic bags or sleeves for iced beverages, frozen juices, or popsicles—it maintains excellent flexibility even at low temperatures, avoiding brittleness, while its distinctive pearlescent luster enhances product visibility on store shelves.
